\\ About the Author //

Hi there- nice to virtually meet you!

I am the orchestrator of OCD Isn’t Me and I’m driven by my life mission, which can be summed up in one word: people.  I am a cheerleader for those suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and an advocator for empirically supported methods of therapeutic care.  When I was diagnosed with OCD, around the age of 8 years old, my younger self constantly wondered “Why me?” but now that internal voice has shifted to “Why not me?”  I didn’t consider having OCD to be an opportunity, but now, I see it as the potential to help, educate, and empower others. I celebrate being unapologetically individual and encourage others to feel the same in regards to their mental health.

Mental Health awareness as a whole has a special place in my heart and She hopes to shed a positive light on mental health and to someday live in a world free from mental health stigmas.

Working on obtaining her degree in Mental Health Counseling, she is pursuing opportunities for internships in the field and in the meantime is working on a personal basis as her friends and families on-call therapist. She has both a passion and a background in public/ motivational speaking and would be thrilled to speak on behalf of your next conference or event.

If you ran into her on the street and asked “Why psychology?” she would tell you that it wasn’t her choice but rather it chose her. “Having OCD myself opened my heart to the possibility of learning to save myself and then grew into a desire to save others.” Laughing she goes on to say “If you think about it, the greatest psychologists are a version of our every day super heroes- they are literally saving lives. The amazing thing is when you reach one life you’re not affecting just them. You’re influencing the dynamics of everyone they are in relation with and altering the course of generations to come. It’s a beautiful thing.”
